I was grooved to the out limits of groovability.

I wasn’t expecting much from this evening’s show. While I always enjoy the Doug Fir, and I’ve been jamming out to Aqueduct for a couple of years now, something about the long day, the streetcar riding, the goods perusing, had tired me out. I was looking forward to some r&r and Entourage. Ari Gold please breath life into my raggedy bones. But alas, plans had been made, and getting out of the house seemed like a swell idea. And so I ventured forth. And lo and behold, I was not disappointed. After a stimulating session at Rontoms, full of caucasians and animal likeness talk, we headed to the Fir and watched Aqueduct completely own the stage like they were charging rent and we were the underpaid tenants. Maybe it was the cream and vodka, but I  haven’t grooved like that since The Headphones ‘05. The MTB and The Walkmen couldn’t even stand up to the funkability that was produced this evening. I jiggled and crooned to every song.

I’m sorry to say, this was the last stop of their tour, so if you missed it, you are a sucker. Next time, get your priorities straight. I’m glad I did.

Horses and Shallow Lakes

Joshua Tuscan spills some thoughts here and they collect in a pool. I live in Seattle, btw.

I once cried because I couldn't draw a tree the way I saw it in my head. Granted, it was kindergarten, but it was a defining moment. One of my lifelong goals has been to ride a horse through a shallow lake, seriously, it's in my grade school journal. I lived in Barbados for a while where I almost lost my toe, which has stood as a metaphor in my life for that time. I watch a lot of movies and sometimes I fear that it is cutting into my ability to learn foreign languages. Oh yeah, I like to write beautiful, validated code.
